This was huge!!! I was so honored to be one of Worcester Business Journals "40 Under Forty" honorees. I am still so overwhelmed an still can't believe it.
Funny story, I received an email from WBJ congratulating me on being one of this years honorees and I quickly thought it was just another junk email. I marked the email as junk not knowing the email was legit. Thankfully WBJ sent a follow up email to all honorees and I thought to myself "this has to be legit, let me look into it". After emailing WBJ back they had confirmed that I was an honoree. I was so overwhelmed with excitement and was so proud. I immediately called the hubby and gave him the news and then called my Ma, everyone was so ecstatic for me. This was huge for me and my businesses. It was so nice to know that people took the time out of their day to put in their vote for me, it was anonymous so I could't even thank them for making my year! After votes were in, the WBJ panel of judges picked their "40 Under Forty" honorees. WBJ'S 40 Under Forty awards program is in it's 17th year and still going strong! 600+ business leaders in the Central Mass/MetroWest region have earned this title since WBJ launched the annual program in 2000. Put me on that list baby, I did it!
After I received the email on being an honoree, there were events that would take place. First was a breakfast/photoshoot. I met most of the other honorees there along with sponsors of the Formal Dinner that would take place later. We got to know each other and told one another our "story". It was fun learning about all of these other amazing people and their businesses. Such a great way to collaborate as well. Below is the photo that was published in the online article and in the WBJ Magazine.
After the photoshoot a few months later was a formal dinner and award ceremony. I had no idea this was such a huge honor. The award ceremony took place at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA and let me tell you it was absolutely beautiful in there. First there was a cocktail hour for all honorees, a Photo Booth to take fun and silly photos in and then the award ceremony. Of course, I had my hubby and Ma there with me. They said, "They wouldn't have missed it for the world". All honorees had to pick a song to walk down the red carpet to when it was our time to receive our award, how fun! I chose Rhianna's, "Diamond" song....how appropriate right? It was so so so much fun dancing down that red carpet and at the end was a beautiful award plaque that hangs in my studio/office as a reminder of all of my accomplishments.
I will never forget this that night!
