The LUXE Collection is made from 14k gold inlaid over sterling silver or brass (please see individual product page for more information). To keep your pieces as pristine as possible, I recommend reducing exposure to moisture; do not swim or shower in your gold/silver plated jewelry.
14K GOLD FILLED JEWELRY
Gold filled wire includes considerably more gold than gold plate. Gold filled products must be a minimum of 1/20th, by weight, of the total piece. It is labeled as 10/20, 12/20 or 14/20, according to the karat used. Many pieces of gold-filled wire jewelry from the early 20th century are still beautiful today. Gold filled wire requires no special care to retain its beauty, other than the occasional soap and warm water bath.
STERLING SILVER 0.925 JEWELRY
When worn, sterling silver jewelry can develop a warm patina and darken in some areas. If you prefer to restore to its original shine, wipe the piece with a silver cloth or soft 100% cotton cloth. Frequent cleaning prevents tarnish build up due to oxidation of the metal. Wipe clean before storing jewelry.

Gold-filled is constructed in two or three layers. The core metal is jewelers’ brass. A gold alloy is then bonded to one or both surfaces of the brass core with heat and pressure. The bonded raw material is then sold as sheet or wire to jewelry manufacturers for use in designs.
Gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight. This 5% is then described by the karatage of the gold alloy. Most gold-filled is 12kt or 14kt gold-filled. It is most accurately labeled with the karatage, the “/” symbol, and then 20 to reflect this construction. Products are identified as 14/20 Gold-filled or 12/20 Gold-Filled; alternatively, 14kt Gold-Filled or 12kt Gold-Filled are also acceptable.
